This is a general overview of the WordPress Dashboard.
The first thing to know is that the dashboard display format can be altered through SCREEN OPTIONS.
The Screen Options will give a listing of dashboard features. To stop a feature from displaying, click to uncheck that particular feature. Notice that the features will no longer be displayed. You can also change the number of columns you want to be displayed on the dashboard.
The Toolbar has the basic functions that you need to do while working with WordPress.
The following can be found on the Toolbar:
Site Owner Options (upper top right corner): You can EDIT PROFILE or LOGOUT from this function.
WordPress Resources : When you click the left-most “W” symbol
WordPress Site Name: Click on this to visit the site.
Moderate Comments: This is symbolized by a “talk” cloud.
Update WordPress/Plugins/Themes: The symbol for this one would be the arrows.
+New: You can add a new post, page, link, media to the site through this function.
On the left-hand side is the main Menu. This is where all functions can be accessed.
